Welcome to our Little Free Library (#5687) located at 232 Concord Road, Westford, Massachusetts 01886.  Concord Road is also Route 225 and is two dangerous miles (because I'm always tempted to go there) from Kimball Farm, home of the world's most amazing home made ice cream.

While on a business trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota, I happened upon many homes with Little Free Libraries.  My friend Laurie told me that they were sold at Settegren's Hardware Store.

After visiting the hardware store and with the help of Store Manager Joe Young, I had it shipped back home to Massachusetts.

I feel that Little Free Libraries are a very loving way to share books with people I may never meet.  The world is my neighborhood and I hope that when you visit my Little Free Library you find something that inspires you.  In the spirit of Little Free Libraries, feel free to take a book and if you're so inclined, leave a book.  We are never at a loss for books and have plenty more in the house to share.

Since the house was being painted and repairs were being made to the , I enlisted the help of the painters and carpenters to adorn and install the Little Free Library.  The color (Fairy Gold by Pratt Lambert) matches the house and the architectural shingles are the same kind that are on the roof of the house as well.  If you're so inclined, drive down the driveway to see the Twelve foot tall, twenty foot long dinosaur.  Please do not climb on it as it is a piece of artwork and not a playground attraction.

There are more Little Free Libraries around Westford that were built by Girl Scouts and 4-H Students.  When the weather allows (no snow...) feel free to park on the lawn while you peruse the offerings.  I had a step built for children and there's a bench if you'd like to sit down a spell.

Our Little Free Library is the only one in the World that is sponsored by Henry David Thoreau of Concord, Massachusetts.  Henry can often be seen at Walden Pond in Concord.

With Love and Appreciation,
Susan McNeill Spuhler
